aNewDomain.net — Meet Bob Amos. Based in New Jersey, he’s the newest member of our geeky staff. You’ll find him writing features, news analysis and reviews here at aNewDomain.net.
A recently-retired New Jersey public school teacher, Bob spent more than 28 years in the classroom “teaching everything from computer literacy to inclusive classroom support, for virtually every middle school subject, including Algebra and Spanish.”
A Rutgers grad with an English degree, Bob’s fondness for “gadgets and video games” inspired a lifelong focus in tech, he says, adding:
“As an avid Philadelphia and Rutgers sports fan, I anticipate free time for more road trips. I plan to expand my participation in tech conferences and events.” That includes ISTE — the International Society of Tech Educators — formerly called NECC, he says.
“I like to refer to the concept of retirement as the endless summer,” says Bob. To him, it’s “a season for enjoying more time to write, draw, play foosball — it’s a World Cup year, after all. There’s more time to enjoy my rock, blues and jazz music, all uploaded to the cloud, of course. The sky’s the limit.”
