aNewDomain.net — Here at Mobile World Congress 2014 (MWC 2014) in Barcelona, ImageWare Systems (OTCQB:IWSY) gave aNewDomain.net‘s Todd Townsend more insight into its GoMobile Interactive (GMI) multi-modal biometric cloud platform for identity management.
Check out Todd’s aNewDomainTV deep dive with ImageWare below. And scroll below the fold for more details on the ImageWare GMI solution.
GMI is a biometric security solution for mobile devices that uses facial, voice and other biometric forms of recognition to secure mobile data. Essentially, it’s an applications platform that’s interactive and rich message based.
It lets IT and other large organization gather an employee’s mobile devices into a complete mobile ID.
With the API, companies are able to develop secure apps in such fields as medicine and finance. The biometric authentication offers a new level of security, execs said.
At MWC 2014, ImageWare execs talked up the new Biometric Engine, a cloud-enabled biometric database that works in real-time. Its ideal for large populations of users, like those big enterprises support, execs said.
ImageWare also announced PillPhone, a biometric-enabled mobile app for the enterprise that combines FDA-cleared tech for medication compliance with mobile usage.
And execs talked extensively about GoCloudID, it’s a cloud-based ID management platform, they said, that allows web portal access through the GoCloudID.com site.
Targeting big enterprise mobile security headaches with biometrics …
ImageWare execs at MWC 2014 quoted from Silicon India reports that, this year, there will be 7.3 billion active cellphones and smartphones — a number larger than the Earth’s total human population.
With those huge numbers come inevitable identity theft. In the United States alone, 2013 saw more than 12 million identity fraud victims, execs said.
That’s huge. And when you consider the mobile devices in the hands of employees worldwide, the scale of growth ahead makes the situation even scarier.
To answer IT’s need to secure personal devices, ImageWare is promoting biometrics — in particular its GoMobile Interactive (GMI) multi-modal, cloud-based biometric mobile identity tech and platform. Watch this space for aNewDomainTV’s interview with ImageWare execs about the message-based biometric tech.
ImageWare’s message-based biometric identity verification is suitable for a range of mobile applications. These include next gen mobile banking and mobile wallet apps as well as medical, enterprise and any sensitive computing you do now, execs told aNewDomain. GMI uses voice, facial, palm, finger and iris recognition, among other biometrics, execs added.
I sat down with ImageWare execs at the Showstoppers press event here at MWC 2014 in Barcelona. Watch for it here. In the meantime, here’s an ImageWare explainer video that describes GMI and its potential uses pretty fully.
