Point and Shoot with Ant Pruitt: Send a Smartphone Pic, Join the Hangout

Have a smartphone? Love taking pictures with it? Check out Ant Pruitt’s weekly Where Are You Now contest here and join his smartphone photo hangout on Google+ Tons of tips. Priceless.

aNewDomain.net — I host a weekly Google+ hangout on air called the Smartphone Photographers Community — aka the Smartphone Point and Shoot podcast with me, Ant Pruitt.  It’s an outgrowth of aNewDomain.net’s wildly popular weekly contest — Where Are You Now — right here at aNewDomain.net.

In the contest, our reader community submits their best smartphone pics, the equipment or software they used and all other details about subject matter, lighting and so on. Winners get published here. That’s a big deal. As a budding photographer, there is nothing better than saying you’re an award-winning and published photographer. Especially if you want to make a serious hobby or even a real living at it.

As for the podcast and hangout, it is live streamed each Thursday evening at 9:30 p.m. Eastern. This week the hangout includes our Chris Miller, Mat Lee, Joey Kelly, plus regular contributors and photographers Robert Knight, Kenny Lee, Michael King, Mike Sweeney and M. Dean Jones. I host.

Watch to see some amazing photos mobile users are taking today and learn a few tricks to get great pro-looking shots along the way.

For aNewDomain.net and, soon, our upcoming-but-now-unplugged aGNUdomain.net Linux geeksite, I’m Ant Pruitt.
