aNewDomain.net — Samsung execs today confirmed that its fourth generation Android smartphone — that’s the Samsung Galaxy S4 — will begin shipping this month from some carriers and through some retail outlets in the United States. T Mobile and Sprint are two of the seven major carriers that will be shipping the $150 S4 — they’ll be selling the devices starting on April 24 and April 27, respectively.

There are lots of interesting specs around the cameras on this device. It’ll feature rear and front-facing cameras — 13 mp and 2 mp — capable of shooting and producing shots simultaneously. That’s dual camera mode. So you’ll be able to put yourself in your pictures, execs say. Also heavily featured were such capabilities as “eraser” mode — get rid of unwanted objects or people in your shots — and the ability to combine a lot of shots into one frame for a “drama shot” documenting key moments or for an animated GIF.

In addition to Sprint and T Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket and C Spire also will carry the new smartphone, Samsung says. More details below. We’ll be reviewing this device and posting specs soon here at aNewDomain.net.
