aNewDomain/SkewedNews — Walking Dead fans got a rude shock on Sunday when producers accidentally murdered the wrong character, making all future storylines based on the comic book impossible and ending the series early.
Buzz about the show had one of the long time characters, Glenn, played by Steven Yeun, slated to die. But something went wrong on the set.
Organization on the set of the Walking Dead was blamed by the show runners, but director Michael Slovis had a different take. “I’m convinced no one reads the script on these things. They’re so caught up in the make up, effects and making all this money. But not me. I read the scripts. I just, ya know, zone out sometimes when we shoot.”
Andrew Lincoln, who plays the main character, Rick Grimes, was furious. “I thought we were shooting an imaginary scene or a dream sequence,” insisted Lincoln. “If I had known Carl and Rick were actually going to die, well I would’ve said something of course!”
Chandler Riggs, who plays Carl, could not be reached for comment as he had mysteriously wandered off without anyone noticing.
“What the f*** was that?!” said Chris Hardwick, host of Talking Dead, shortly after the episode aired. “You people just sent me back to Comedy Central! F***!”
The rest of the cast were dumbstruck upon seeing Sunday’s episode. Calls to AMC execs were answered, but no one could hear due to the noise of several cash-counting machines that have been running non-stop at the AMC offices since 2010. A spokesman for AMC released a statement:
We apologize to our employees, fans and sponsors,” the release said in part. “We see no easy way to undo what we have done, so we will end the show while it has some dignity left. We will also work tirelessly from our offices in the French Rivera, to assure that this does not happen with our spin-off series, Fear the Walking Dead and the 16 other Walking Dead spin-offs we have planned for the future.”
