aNewDomain.net — Alfred Poor is a vet tech writer with a long history in tech journalism. Like our John C. Dvorak, he is a long-time alum of PC Magazine. He was there for more than 22 years. He also participated in that publication’s first Printer Blockbuster and was the magazine’s first lead analyst on Business Displays. He wrote for other Ziff Davis titles, including Family PC, PC Sources, Windows Sources, and Computer Shopper where he had several columns including his popular Alfred Poor’s Computer Cures Q & A column. That column ran for more than a dozen years. He’s internationally renowned for his coverage of displays and will be serving as our gadget guy here at aNewDomain.
Alfred has been honored by the Society for Information Display (SID) as a Senior Member, was a founding member and former chair of the SID Display of the Year Award Committee, and is former chair of the SID Delaware Valley Chapter. He also serves as contributing editor with SID magazine, Information Display.
Alfred is the author or co-author of more than a dozen books — and he has thousands of published reviews and articles with his byline on it. He is fascinated by shiny sparkly things — that’s why he’ll be covering gadgets at aNewDomain.net.
