It could be a certain kind of weatherproof varnish, a wireless adapter, a 50-foot garden hose, or a buy-one-get-one-free deal on catfish fillets.
“Great, I gotta get this thing,” you say with absolute enthusiasm. If you do what I do, you put the ad down, and in 10 seconds you forget all about it. A week later, you happen to come across the ad again and say, “Oh yeah, I forgot. I gotta get this thing.”
You make your way to the store to pick one up. Nuts! Procrastination rears its ugly head once more. The sale ended yesterday. So my choice is, no matter how much I want this object of desire, there’s no way am I paying full price. My second option is that stingy me would rather wait six months for the next time it’s on sale. Neither option is best. If there was only some other way …
