aNewDomain — In a victory for the animal rights movement, two chimpanzees being “unlawfully detained” by a Long Island university animal research lab will get their day in court on May 6th. If a New York State Supreme Court judge rules that their habeas corpus petition is valid, they’ll be released.
Meanwhile, more than 100 Gitmo detainees are still waiting for their habeas corpus rights so they can be charged or released.
