aNewDomain — On July 27, 2015, The Los Angeles Times fired me as its long time editorial cartoonist. The reason? Editors said they believed, based on a secret LAPD audiotape of my 2001 arrest for jaywalking, that I’d lied about my treatment by the police officer in a May 11, 2015 Times blog. But I had the tape enhanced and cleaned up just a few days later. It proved I’d told the truth.
So why won’t the Times comment, or investigate further or … just admit it was wrong?
The LAPD Told The Los Angeles Times to Fire Me cartoon: Ted Rall, exclusive to aNewDomain and SkewedNews
For aNewDomain, I’m Ted Rall.
You need to sue the LAPD for libel.
And for being assholes. What? That isn’t a crime? Well, it should be.
Can’t fight the police. They will smack you down.
Damn coppers.
