aNewDomain — Congress today released a 243-page transcript of former Trump campaign foreign policy advisor Carter Page’s testimony before the US House Intelligence Committee.
Page testified in a closed door hearing on Nov. 2, 2017 relating to the US investigation into whether Trump campaign officials colluded with Russia to sway the 2016 US presidential election. In the transcript, Page admits meeting with Russian political figures in Moscow, which he claims US attorney general Jeff Sessions knew about. That’s in direct contradiction to comments from Sessions earlier in the year, where he claimed he knew of no contacts with Trump campaign officials and the Kremlin.
Three days after Trump won the presidency on Nov. 4, 2017, this reporter translated a speech by Kremlin official Sergey Ryabkov, in which he told Russian journalists that the Kremlin “had been in contact” with high-level Trump campaign figures throughout 2016. That report ran a year ago today. Find it here.

Finally, here is a 14-page portion of a US government memo detailing how George Papadopoulos lied to federal investigators about his contacts with Russia during the campaign. Papadopoulous’ signed admission says a Kremlin-linked Russian university professor told him about “dirt” that Russia had on Clinton back in April 2016. Emails show he contacted Trump official Sam Clovis about setting up a meeting between then candidate Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
