SXSW 2013 App Preview: GonnaBe for iOS, BonFyre for Android, iOS

Chris Miller and Paul Steel are covering SXSW 2013 in Austin for us this year — and here they preview two high-profile apps you’ll be hearing about. GonnaBe for iOS and BonFyre for iOS and Android. Here’s our preview of two high profile apps we’ll see at SXSW 2013 — BonFyre and GonnaBe. The show, expected to draw some 60,000 to Austin from March 8 through March 17, is an eclectic blend of cutting edge film, music and interactive tech. Basically, GonnaBe is an answer to apps like Forecast and Plancast and offers location and event planning for you and your acquaintances. It uses only Facebook Connect for authentication, though. I have a problem with that, but Paul disagrees.  GonnaBe is available for preview now in the iTunes Store for the Apple iOS version.

Bonfyre is more like Waddle, an app we previously reviewed. It lets you build private photo sharing channels. You’re able to open these channels up to contacts and friends — and there are some nice privacy controls. It’s newly available on Apple iOS in the iTunes store and on Android here at Google Play.
