aNewDomain — The must-see-documentary at this year’s Cannes Film Festival was Asif Kapadia’s ambitious biography of Amy Winehouse. “Amy” is a devastating look at how some of the people closest to the singer/songwriter contributed to her untimely demise. And watching her recording her hit song “Back to Black” is nothing short of stunning. I suggest you see “Amy.” I give this outstanding documentary an A overall, and you’ll see why in my short video show, viewable below.
This week my Sleeper Pick is “Jimmy’s Hall” (2015). My Guilty Pleasure Pick is “Ted 2 (2015).” And my must-have DVDs this week are “The Fisher King (1991),” “The Gunman (2015)” and “Pit Stop (2013).”
Enjoy your movie week. For aNewDomain and BMod, I’m Cole Smithey.
