aNewDomain — The Chicago Cubs will win the World Series for the first time in 108 years, according to an artificial intelligence system that correctly predicted the winners of the Kentucky Derby 2016 superfecta earlier this year.
Unanimous AI’s Artificial Swarm Intelligence also accurately predicted all but one of 10 teams to make the play offs, including the Cleveland vs Chicago head to head that’ll be decided tonight.
Artificial Swarm Intelligence doesn’t just use AI tech alone, say its creators. Rather, it combines algorithmic smarts with real time human input in what adds up to a Star Trek-style hive mind approach.
“UNU never ceases to impress us with its insights and predictions,” Dr. Louis Rosenberg, UAI’s CEO told journalists earlier this week.
“While sometimes the recommendations are surprising, they have been prescient so many times that we’ve learned not to question, even when 71-year-old curses are involved.”
The so-called Curse of the Billy Goat has haunted the Cubs ever since 1945, reportedly. That’s when its owner Billy Sianis shouted “Them Cubs, they ain’t gonna win no more!”
The team hasn’t graced the World Series stage since.
