aNewDomain.net — DJI execs demonstrating tech at the NAB 2014 show in Las Vegas took some time out to speak to our reporter Kerry Kinsey about what it’s working on now. Namely, drones. Meet the DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ quadcopter drone, below, built for aerial imaging.
DJI, well known among video, photographer and broadcast types as a leader in aerial imaging tech, was here at NAB 2014 demonstrating the latest aerial imaging and stabilization technology it’s offering — via drones. I checked out the DJI quadcopter and camera equipped DJI Phantom 2 Vision+. Its stabilized camera images are broadcast quality, DJI exec Eric Cheng told me, partially due to the quadcopter on it.
I saw the DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ at the Showstoppers event at NAB 2014. Check out my video interview with DJI below.

Very cool.
Look for the destruction of the RC hobby due to every noob getting one of these and doing stupid and dangerous things with them!
Care to elaborate, Mark Pugner?

Sure, our elected officials have tried to shut down the hobby several times now usually after they concoct a story about some “terrorist” (of their manufacture) wanting to fly an RC plane full of explosives into someone or something which wouldnt work because our planes are to small to carry enough payload to do any serious damage to anything but I digress. Recently the lovely Senator Feinstein called for “drones” to be regulated:

My first recommendation would be to immediately STOP referring to these types of RC copters/planes as “drones” as it brings far to much attention to them and from the wrong people! Now back to the noobs that would be the type of idiot who fly’s an RC copter near a senators residence (not that I dont think she deserves to be harassed – I despise the woman). Anyway I think I made my point.
