What is a photo walk ? A blast — if you like meeting other photographers, getting tips, walking around and taking great shots!
Grab a random group of photo enthusiasts — get them together at a destination that is preferably picturesque and walkable — and you have the equivalent of a photo flash mob. But beautiful. And we generally don’t leave the place a mess when we leave.
At WWDC 2012 in San Francisco, a colleague and I popped in on a Photowalk that was sponsored by 500px, a photo community that enables you to discover, share, buy and sell inspiring photographs. We met up at the Powell Street BART station and made our way along Market Street to the Embarcadero at the waterfront. We used a Nikon D90 and a Fujifilm JX310, respectively. Check it out. And here’s a link to A Day in San Francisco, a photo tour I did for all you readers visiting us here in San Francisco and the Bay Area in California this summer.
