In Lijang, I saw two different people using their iPads to take photos. They were Chinese native to the area. And then, after that, I started noticing that Chinese using their Apple iPads more and more for photos. Americans, I guess, don’t do that as much. They look more embarrassed to use their iPads for photography. This is anecdotal, but I’ll keep an eye on this trend as I travel.
DAILY PHOTO – ALONG THE RIVER IN LIJIANG
Anyway, while I walked along, little streams that flowed through the village, restaurants, cafes, shops and homes lined the sides. Each one was decorated uniquely — with lanterns, fauna and flora, windows, furniture and flowers. You could stop almost anywhere to take a photo! So, I did.
Switching lenses is a bit of a pain. The two lenses I used the most for this shoot there were the 14-24 and the 28-300. But many shots were kind of right around that 20-35mm zone, which meant I never was really sure of which lens to use⦠so I would end up swapping back and forth a lot until it felt right!
Trey, was this taken in Old Town? Lijiang sure is beautiful. Did you enhance the colors?
