On Saturday, September 8, 2012, Walter Koenig from Star Trek The Original Series will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Koenig is the last remaining cast member from the original Star Trek TV series to receive the award. It coincides with the 46th anniversary of the original Star Trek launch.

Organizer Planet Xpo has a three-day convention to celebrate the anniversary of Star Trek and Koenig’s award, too.
Scheduled is a screening of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and the original series episode Spectre of the Gun featuring Koenig. Star Trek celebrities attending the event include Leonard Nimoy, J. Michael Straczynski, Nichelle Nichols, Jamie Farr, Marina Sirtis, Harlan Ellison, Bruce Boxleitner and Wil Wheaton.
