SF AppShow 2012: GiddyUp Social Planning, with a Twist (Freeware Friday)

GiddyUp available for the iPhone and Android is the new, hassle free way to plan an informal event using your mobile phone.

Elliott Goldwater, GiddyUp’s CEO, showed the new app at the SF AppShow 2012 this week.

GiddyUp, available for the Apple iOS and Android platforms, is the new way to plan an event without the hassle of spamming everyone or treading carefully within your circles. Think of it as an Evite service for regular, daily events, like grabbing a quick coffee or meeting friends for drinks.

Just create an informal event, select friends from your phone’s address book, set the location, date and time, add pictures and notes. GiddyUp sends an invitation to all your friends.

The system notifies all invitees immediately. All communications stay within the built-in group chat. The texts are free and you get a unique mobile website to notify all those who don’t have the app of what the plan is. No client download is necessary.

It’s Freeware Friday. Have a great weekend.
