SF AppShow 2012: Docusign Ink for Apple iOS (freeware)

Written by Joy Ma

DocuSign Ink, the app from DocuSign, has a rev with a bunch of new features, announced at the SF AppShow 2012 in San Francisco 2012 on stage with Gina Smith

Docusign Ink, version 2.1, relaunched earlier this fall  for the Apple iPad and iPhone 5. And the high-flying company, which competes with Adobe and others in the hot e-signature biz, took no prisoners, Damon Dean told our Gina Smith at the SF Appshow 2012 in San Francisco, November 8. It scored a half a million downloads since its launch in the App Store.

Disclosure: Gina Smith is editorial director here at aNewDomain.net, retains some ownership in this site and regularly hosts the Seth Socolow produced SF AppShow 2012.

The main draw for Docusign Ink lies in its flexibility, Dean said. It even lets you import docs from Evernote on a mobile app, combine multiple docs into a single doc to sign or you’re able to use it offline. That last feature, agreed Gina,  is money.

Expect an Android version right around the time of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona come February 2013.
DocuSign is on a roll for sure. It just completed a 55M round from Google Ventures and major venture firm Kleiner Perkins. It’s in the money. And it also, we learned, just signed a partnership with LegalZoom.
The freemium model lets you sign and return as many docs as you want,  sign and get signatures up to five times for free. After that, you pay. For regular folks, a subscription costs $15 a month. There are corporate rates, too. Find out more about the DocuSign program and how to use it  from our Carey Head’s deep tech review  and learn more at the DocuSign homepage.
