Time to unveil our edit team at aNewDomain. Last I checked, it’s January 1, 2012.
Starting alphabetically, meet Phil Baker. The holder of more than 30 patents, Phil is one of the few high tech journalists who both reviews and designs tech products. With some 40 years of experience in all facets of product development — including invention, industrial design, engineering and manufacturing — Phil helped develop consumer electronics products for Apple, Seiko, Polaroid and many others.
Phil worked with Apple on its original Apple Newton and PowerBooks, designed the Polaroid SX-70 camera and Barnes & Noble’s first eReader, the Nook. Phil co-founded Think Outside, which invented and manufactured the Stowaway folding keyboard. He will be writing deep tech commentary, news and hardware reviews for aNewDomain. That’s in addition to his weekly On Technology column at the San Diego Daily Transcript. The author of From Concept to Consumer (Financial Times Press), Phil talks tech regularly on KGO-AM in San Diego.
Based in Solana Beach, CA, find more about Phil at his site — techspertsinc. Phil is one of the newest members of our edit team — and wrote aNewDomain’s Best of 2011 Tech Guide Parts One and Two. Email him at PBaker@aNewDomain.net. Scroll below to see how to find his top tech products of 2011, which ran here a few days ago.
Welcome, Phil! It’s an honor to have you on the team!
