SAN FRANCISCO: Macworld | iWorld 2012 is a wrap — and here’s my wrap on the best and most interesting tech and entertainment I thought IDG’s show in San Francisco had to offer this year. Photos from our edit team photographers, Julie Blaustein and Vanessa Martinez for aNewDomain.

Let’s start with HyperDrive’s booth.

One of the first things I saw when entering the expo floor was HyperDrive’s display. It was showing off its colorful HyperJuice external batteries for Mac, and the Apple iPhone and Apple iPad.

Here’s the HP DesignJet Z5200 PostScript Printer. It’s 44 inches, prints up to 2400 x 1200 dots per inch — all for a whopping $4,945. A guy can dream  …

Wisepower was at Macworld 2012 with some cool chargers for the Apple iPhone. You just put your phone down on a pad and it automatically charges.

Mic-W had its i-Series microphones on display. They just plug into the headphone jack of your iPhone or iPad and bring you, execs said, professional quality sound from your device.

For all of you Android haters, there was a game set up that was based off of Whack-A-Mole except it was Whack-A-Phone where the object was to smack down android handsets as they popped up.

SuperSync is a great solution for keeping your iTunes libraries in sync across multiple computers. Even with iTunes Match now available, SuperSync still has its advantages. For instance, copying music to a new computer from an iPhone, iPod, or iPad that was tied to another computer’s iTunes library gets dicey. SuperSync is $35 and runs on both Mac and Windows.

Here’s a good one for the kids — iBallz. These four rubber balls attach securely onto the corners of your iPad to protect it from the shock of being dropped on a hard surface. This is intended mostly for educational purposes and definitely kids will be throwing them around a lot. They come in a few different colors and sell for $19.95 an iBall.

This the NomadBrush — a stylus in the form of a brush for painting. It will work with any art or painting app on the iPad. There are various brushes you can buy including long tip, short tip and dual tip. They range from $18 to $39 depending on which model you choose.

OrigAudio had its speakers on display. It had a couple products to show, first are speakers that you can design yourself. You submit a photo and the company prints it onto a cube speaker that it sends within three to five business days. It works with any device that has a standard headphone jack. The $39.99 model comes with your image printed on the front of the speakers and uses two AAA batteries or a power cable. The $49.99 model has your image printed on all four sides and has a rechargeable battery inside.

OrigAudio had another product to show too. This one is pretty mind-blowing. The Rock-It 2.0 will literally make nearly anything into a speaker. The company was showing the device attached to a styrofoam cooler, and sure enough you could clearly hear what was being played on the iPod it was plugged into. The sound quality wasn’t the best, but it did work. When it isn’t being used, it winds up into a small tube. The Rock-It 2.0 comes in black and white and costs $50.

Another speaker being shown was the BeoLit 12 from Bang & Olufsen. It looks like a lunchbox, but produces amazing sound quality. It also uses AirPlay so you can play it wirelessly from your iPhone, iPad or Mac. It doesn’t come cheap though, the price is a steep $799.

It wouldn’t be a Macworld | iWorld without iPhone cases aplenty. This one is interesting because instead of a big bulky case to protect your iPhone from falls, the FlyGrip clips to your fingers so it is nearly impossible to drop in the first place. It also makes it easy to use with one hand. And no, that still doesn’t make it ok to use while driving. It comes in a variety of colors and costs $29.95.

Doxie had its latest portable scanner, the Doxie Go + Wifi. As you can imagine, the company added wifi capabilities to its current scanner the Doxie Go. Now you’ll be able to scan documents and images and send them via wifi to your computer or straight to the cloud. The Doxie Go is $199, while the new Doxie Go + Wifi is $239.
