Check out this shot of the London Eye, a landmark sometimes visible during the Summer Olympics 2012 games going on now.
It’s this week’s winning photograph and it comes from reader Linda Feng in London. Linda captured this shot with her Apple iPhone 4S.
No wonder it’s one of the more popular cameras used for online photographs shared.
The London Eye Ferris wheel, on the banks of the River Thames in London, is one enormous Ferris wheel. It’s 444 feet (134 meters) tall and more than 394 feet (120 meters) wide. Here it is through Linda’s lens.

A little about the London Eye: It is the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe and easily the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom, according to stats on Wikipedia. It 0pened in 199 as the tallest Ferris wheel in the world, but two wheels in Singapore — the 520 foot Star of Nanchang in 2006 and the 165 foot Singapore Flyer in 2008 — have since eclipsed it in size. It is still, stats say, the 20th tallest edifice in London proper.
Great photo, Linda!
