If you have an Apple iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch, Apple makes your default signature generic and an ad, basically, for the device you're using. For instance, "sent from my iPad" is what iPad message senders and receivers get as signatures.
Let's get a little more creative. It isn't difficult. Here's how to create a custom signature for your outgoing email in iOS 5.
First navigate to Settings >> Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Then scroll down. Tap Signature.
On the Signature screen, tap Clear. Type in your custom signature.
The new text formatting feature in Apple iOS 5 works for the signature, too. Now it's easy to add basic formatting to bold, underline and italicize text.
Now when you send an email from your iOS device, your new signature will display at the bottom of the message.
That's all there is to it. Note: Our new site, launched by Gina Smith, John C. Dvorak X3 and me, will be launching at the now-stealth site aNewDomain.net. It is launching 11.11.11 – and we can't wait. Stay tuned AND stay informed in tech. You can't be too informed in tech. You just can't.
