Freeware Friday: aCar for Android

I do a lot of driving for work. Some years I put 30,000 miles on my car. That racks up expenses at such an alarming rate that I need to learn everything I can about my driving habits to save money. Of all the Android apps in vehicle tracking category, my ultimate favorite is aCar for Android from Armand Avanes. Here’s why.

Notice the variance in my mileage during the winter months.

That’s valuable data. Available for Android, aCar will track a variety of data points. That includes tracking fill-ups, repairs and maintenance and also expensable data for business trips. It’ll even track scheduled service reminders. There’s a free and a paid version. I upgraded to the paid version for the easy backup. The free version of the program is full-featured and does an equally great job, though. That’s why I chose it for this week’s freeware Friday.

If you drive for work, or maybe you’re just a car geek, I highly recommend aCar. It’s available here at Google Play.
