Earth Hour 2012: March 31, 2012 at 20:00 Pacific

>

Millions of climate change activists will be dimming the lights or turning them off altogether on March 31 at 8 p.m. PT during Earth Hour.

Not to be undone, a competitive group is calling for a kind of anti Earth Hour. Kind of. Take what you will from this. The Competitive Enterprise Institute says it will “commemorate “Earth Hour 2012 with its “Human Achievement Hour,” 60 minutes to gather with friends in a heated home, watch television and surf the Internet instead of dimming or shutting off the lights altogether to draw attention to climate change. An odd way to save energy, that’s for sure.

An odd way to save energy.

I think I’ll be dimming the lights. I need the hour-long break from screens!

Here’s the official Earth Hour 2012 video.
