Christopher Poirier: Video Game Easter Eggs Part Deux

Our Christopher Poirier brought you some old school videogame Easter Eggs last week. Here’s his latest batch — can you find the surprises in these hot games? Videos included. Fun.

Last time I brought all the good girls and boys of the interwebz some old school video game Easter Eggs.

This time I’m helping you find Easter Eggs in the games of today. It’s still not candy, but it’s pretty close. Can you find them all?

Halo: Reach Master Chief Statue

Halo pretty much defines an entire piece of video game history. Not to mention that there are probably hundreds of Easter Eggs across all of the different games. This one, though some what simple, is a classic.  Buried in the most random of locations is a small statue of the man himself: Master Chief!

Grand Theft Auto 4 Heart of Liberty City

Just like Halo, Grand Theft Auto has been on the scene for a very long time.  (Anyone remember the top-down, 2D GTA?  Epic..)  But, did you know that Liberty City has a beating heart?  Creepy, yet very cool. “No Hidden Content Here.”

Assassins Creed 2 Squid

I have actually been playing Assassins Creed 2 as of late, getting ready for AC3 this fall, and missed this the first time around.  However, in the last Assassin’s Tomb, find this little gem. It’s a squid. Yes, I said squid.

Batman Arkham Asylum Secret Room

Arkham Asylum is one of the best immersion games of late. I may be a bit of a comic book nerd but I really enjoyed playing through every nook in this game. Even I missed this, though. A secret room. And not just any secret room, but one that lays out the future of Arkham City and it was there the whole time.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Village Easter Eggs

Finally, what would an updated Easter Egg list be without something from Call of Duty?  Well, it would probably be boring or not really all that interesting. To finish up our Easter Egg visit, this one will give you three Easter Eggs and all in the same place, too. Everything from a Lost reference, teddybears, and a CoD throw back. You’re welcome : )

Easter is one of those holidays that means many things to many different people, but one thing all gamers can enjoy is a good find buried in their favorite game.  Hope you have enjoyed shifting through these as much as I did locating them for you!
