Amazon Kindle Fire, Apple iTunes Match, Open Source Android 4.0: Tech Garage Ep 11

Tech Garage with Gina Smith and Mat Lee, wrapping the tech news for Nov. 14, 2011 Duration: [00:14:12]

On today’s episode, Tech Garage hosts Mat Lee and Gina Smith take on the days news: Amazon ships $199 Kindle Fire a day early and Google makes modders happy by releasing the source code for Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich, to debut on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Apple early this morning tried to quietly update iTunes to version 10.5.1 with its new iTunes Match built-in, but hiccups plagued Apple all morning. By day’s end, iTunes Match and the iTunes 10.5.1 seemed stable again. Also, Apple began notifying original iPod nano customers today — if you bought one between September 2005 and August 2006, Apple will replace due to potential battery overheating issues. Lastly, our condolences are out to the family, friends and colleagues of  the late Ilya Zhitomirskiy, cofounder of Diaspora. Zhitomirskiy, 22, committed suicide.
