aNewDomain — Get a load of this huge Star Wars infographic. Created by Swiss graphic novelist and illustrator Martin Panchaud in Adobe Illustrator, it is 1024 x 465152 px — that is to say, 123 meters long. Essentially he’s adopted the whole of 1977’s Star Wars into infographic form. And it is nothing short of stellar, beautifully combining the histories, technologies and ages of the beings who populate the Empire.
On his site, Panchaud explains the creation of the thing. Is long ribbon-like design is reminiscent of, he writes, “the ancient Chinese script rolls that had to be rolled in and rolled out simultaneously in order to be read.” On the internet, short stories and summaries reign, he notes. “with my work, I aimed to create a contrast to that.”
Scroll below to check out Panchaud’s creation, which appears to include ever piece of dialogue, every ship, every character, and even every sound effect in Star Wars IV. (We haven’t fact-checked that claim, but we believe it!). Here’s the top piece of it, below. Double click on the image to see the whole enchilada. Wow!
