I had lunch with photographer Trey Ratcliff today, who told me a neat trick. Tape your Apple iPhone or other smartphone into your shoebox eclipse viewer -- so that the lens aligns with your pinhole. That lets you take pictures, reduce glare and you won't go blind, either. Caution: NEVER stare at the sun, even at the height of the eclipse when just a sliver of light is showing.
