The Transformer Prime running ICS is REALLY nice in my opinion. Such a nice piece of hardware running much better software than honeycomb.

Ann: Glad you found the article interesting. If you would like to hear more background about the Microsoft Handheld PC Pro (of which the Vadem Clio was one), be sure to listen to the podcast I recorded with the project's former manager, Keith Amodt. You can find it here on aNewDomain at: http://bit.ly/w2WtJq

I found a Clio User manual this weekend when I was cleaning up my study. I had forgot about it since the days I had a loaner and was trying to push it for the healthcare market when I had a company providing healthcare management software. Then I searched the web to see if there are people talking about Clio while tablets have become so hot since iPad was launched, I saw this wonderful blog. It is kind of sad to see a good technology could not go further not because of their own design but because all other factors are not at the same level of developed and adoption. I am glad you posted this and I hope Clio people would see this blog and get a boost on how much they have accomplished. It was and still a cool device – even one of the despondence said he wants one!

The last time I checked, an iPad is not an Android device. So, an "official" back button for Android makes no sense on an iOS device. Re: The back button's position. Again, following iOS UI conventions, the back button should be at the top left. While one could argue Android vs. iOS UI conventions, the rule is the design should follow conventions for the target platform. In this case I used the app on an iPad not an Android tablet and expected iPad UI conventions.

The app is VERY slow... but you're totally wrong about these two:

> Google designed a strange and tiny icon — a semi circular,
> weirdly shaped refresh arrow as its Back button.

That is the official "back button" for Android, and is also used in the iPhone version of this app.

> And strangely, that button is at bottom left.

It's EXTREMELY common: Back (left)... and Forward (right).
Do you want the opposite?

I am rooting for Aero. Maybe this will force cable and satellite providers into an a la carte service. Don't get me wrong, i LOVE my DirecTV. It's got really good quality bandwidth for my HD signals. Much better than my previous provider (TWC). It's also MUCH CHEAPER than what I previously paid. Yet I still get the Lifetime Movie Network. I don't want that channel, I don't watch that channel, but I'm sure it's still rolled into my monthly fee.

DVR is convenient, but it's I use it as a backup in case I can't get the content online already by other means.

Nice post, Mr. Press. Thnx for the info.

So this may explain why a Facebook picture -- a pic that exists only on Facebook -- was mailed to everyone connected to me on Facebook as an invite to a dating site! Yikes.

Don't know why anyone would target me, though. Journalists are all about the first amendment right of free speech -- and the expectation of privacy.

Interestingly enough, the answer is "yes." My friend (Emil Reyes) noted that the 3D design is available for free. I will get the information about where to find this. The trick, however, is being able to create/print the piece at the small size seen in the video & photo at the tolerances required for the smooth action seen.

Wow, Todd, can you get in a little more detail about how this worked. Just 3D blueprints. Could we try this at home ; )

Are there project templates teachers with 3D printers in the classroom have. Very interesting piece.
