“Carol” is an awesome LGBT drama, says renowned film reviewer Cole Smithey. Here’s why. [review]

aNewDomain — An undeniable highlight of the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, Todd Haynes’ masterful adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s 1952 novel The Price of Salt, is an opposite-sex companion piece to Haynes’ 1950s-era homosexual drama “Far From Heaven.” Think of “Carol” as “Farther From Heaven.” I give this outstanding LGBT drama an A-plus. Check out my video review below.

My sleeper pick this week is “Mustang.” My guilty pleasure pick is “Legend,” starring Tom Hardy. My must-have DVDs are “The Apu Trilogy,” “The Stanford Prison Experiment” and “The Pit and the Pendelum.”
