On the cusp of the Chinese New Year, Rovio Entertainment is now shipping its new Angry Birds Seasons Year of the Dragon game.
Rovio Entertainment is trying hard to get a foothold in the Asian market and it’s gaining traction, analysts say.
In addition to the special dragon-themed Angry Birds New Year release, available for iOS, Android and Symbian, Rovio is also giving out free dragon-themed animations and comics in the US, Asia and elsewhere.
China Mobile, with a network of some 600 million users, is Rovio’s launch partner, reps said. “This Year of the Dragon update has a lot of Chinese culture involved and Chinese people just love it,” said Lili Tan, deputy general manager at China Mobile.
