aNewDomain.net – Check out the U.S. government shutdown infographic below. The U.S. government shutdown started Oct. 1, 2013 — it resulted from the inability of the Senate and the House of Representatives to pass a federal budget. Federal courts will run for 10 more days. NSA PRISM is still running, of course. But NASA is redirecting its site to show a standard government error message. Find it below the fold. The latter is saddest.
If you wanted to hear about the natural plastic found on Saturn’s Titan moon today, you have to head to this internationally-sponsored Cassini site, operated in conjunction with Caltech’s Jet Proplusion Laboratories, NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Agenzia Spaziale Italiana (ASA). Sixteen European countries make the Cassini Saturn orbiter possible.
Scroll below the fold, too, to see NASA’s shutdown message and find out why it’s so bogus, according to our John C. Dvorak.

Searching out news on the propylene found on Titan, NASA popped up this message, below. Scroll up to find the link to the Cassini site — run by Caltech’s JPL not only for NASA but also for the European Space Agency and Agenzia Spaziale Italiana (ASA). Thank you, Italy!

Says our John C. Dvorak about the above error message, found when you hit NASA and other government sites:
Seems suspicious. The computers are still running or you would get no message. The sysop put a redirect at the root so everything links to this message. Other (government) servers are showing similar messages. It is totally bogus.”
By the way, the Google Doodle today is celebrating 123rd anniversary of Yosemite National Park today. We appreciate the irony, given that national parks are closed under the US government shutdown. For more irony, check out Ted Rall’s cartoon portraying the upside of the situation here.. The Oct. 1, 2013 Google Doodle is below.
