Based in Australia, David Michaelis is a world-renowned international journalist and documentary film maker. He produced and directed live news productions and documentaries for public television in the United Kindom for BBC, in Germany for ZDR and ARD and in Israel for IBA. Specializing in the coverage of political and social issues, from 1992 to 1998 David was senior editor of Israel’s highest-rated series, POPOLITIKA, a weekly news feature and lively debate program.
In the United States in 1999, David initiated, launched and was co-founder of Link TV, a non-commercial nationwide US television network. The network currently reaches 35 million homes. David served as its vice president for current Affairs until July 2010, overseeing all news and current affairs productions.
David also produced and directed live news productions and documentaries for public television. He was a project leader and board member with the international journalism innovator, the Internews Network, the goal of which was to create bridges of understanding throughout the Middle East. In 2010 David co-founded the Innovation Dialog website initiative between China and USA with US-China news celebrity Diana Ding.
