Ray Kurzweil At Google,Twitter Archives: TWiT with Leo Laporte

It’s This Week in Tech with Leo Laporte, plus guest co-hosts Bob Scoble and Mathew Ingram.

In the news last week: Now it’s easy to get your all of your historical tweets from Twitter. It’s the archive! Should you care or be scared? Also, Ray Kurzweil is now a director of engineering at Google — specializing on the future of machine languages there, he confirmed in a blogpost this weekend.

Contrary to rumor, Kurzweil is not working on a Google Singularity, if that’s what you’re thinking. Though this parody video shows just what that would look like and it includes the blog post from Kurzweil, too.

It’s TWiT with Leo Laporte, looking back at the week in tech news on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 as only Leo and his buds in the Brick House can.

Disclosure: Two founders of this site, Gina Smith and John C. Dvorak, worked for years as co-hosts with Leo Laporte on a weekly national tech call-in show, On Computers. Additionally, Gina co-authored a book with Leo — 101 Computer Answers You Need to Know (1995, Ziff Davis Press) and Ray Kurzweil does promote Gina Smith’s book, the NYT-winning memoir of Apple co-founder and inventor Steve Wozniak: How I Invented the Personal Computer and Had Fun Doing It (W.W. Norton, 2005, 2007, 2009). She profits directly from sales of all those books.
